Favorite Couple Friday

Herman & Lily Munster

Most of us can only dream of having the ideal relationship that Lily and Herman had. Mr. and Mrs. Munster are my favorite couple because never have I seen a couple as well suited and as simply adorable as Lily and Herman. They are both wonderfully wacky and yet never try to change the absolutely endearing quirks of the other. They are best friends and they are completely in love, Herman and Lily are a couple that people can only aspire to imitate.

British Fascination #5

Joe Wilkinson

I have heard people say and think Joe Wilkinson can be easily mistaken as the British version of Zach Galifianakis, which I have found to be extremely far from the truth. Joe Wilkinson has quit easily won me over and is now one of my favorite comedians. I hope and pray that he comes to the U.S of A very soon! Joe Wilkinson's humor is hard for me to explain, so with out further ado here is Joe Wilkinson.

The Hour

So I have been known to became quit obsessed with TV programs and my for a little bit now I have been very into The Hour. Its about a news crew in 1950s and of course there is mystery, affairs, and plenty of drama. I was very said to see that BBC has decided it will not return for a third season but alas that tends to be my luck. But the show, because it is set in the 1950s, has wonderful costumes that quit look like many of the clothes in my closet. So I thought the show deserved a post for the extraordinary actors and so I can drool over the costumes/hair/era.

The world needs more shows set in the 1950s.

I Love Lucy Style

I was browsing netflix watch instant list and came across a movie that was dramatized version of Lucille Ball's life. I watched a similar one when I was younger about Buddy Holly, it was called The Buddy Holly Story, it was fantastic and I highly recommend it! I watched the Lucille Ball film, it was called simply Lucy. At first I was unimpressed but I quickly became enthralled with her life story.

Lucille Ball is such an inspiration not only in fashion but also in her personal life.

Her relationship with Desi Arnaz is fascinating as well, again it is a dramatized version of her life so not everything happened word for word like in the film but the core problems it deals with are very credible.

At the end of the film I found my favorite recurring element of Lucy's style was her scarfs! So I decided to do a bit of a Lucille Ball homage in this post.

I finished out the day by going to farmers market and the geek in me couldn't help but buy a Doctor Who shirt while I was down there!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer!

Favorite Music, TV Shows, and Movies This Spring

Here are my favorite things from spring 2012!

Musicians

Jack White released Blunderbuss on April 23rd. I pre-ordered this album way earlier this year and I was so psyched to finally hear it when it came out! I have to say I have listened to this album so many times since I got it and I cant stop! Love this album love Jack White!

Paloma Faith released Picking Up the Pieces single from her new album Fall to Grace which is set to release June 12th in the U.S. I am a huge fan of her first album and I'm loving this single and I cant wait for the album to come out!

The Hives have been a long time favorite of mine so I was of course very excited when Lex Hives(their first full length album since 2007!) was released and many of the songs have joined my Summer 2012 playlist!

Regina Spektor released What We Saw From The Cheap Seats. I have really liked Regina Spektor's work but I have to say that this album is my new favorite of her's. I really enjoyed it, Small Town Moon and Don't Leave Me are in my top two favorite right now from this amazing album!

TV Shows

Parks and Recreation proved to be very easy to watch and entertaining this spring. It was put on a temporary hold earlier this year but to everyone's delight it returned to finish out the season with bang!

Grandma's House series two aired on BBC2 this spring and I am hoping and praying for a season three(I really love this show!). It felt much gloomier this series since Grandpa passed away and Simon's life seems to be getting worse as time goes on. But the show continued to bring humor and wit to the depressing themes it revolves around.

Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy is another show that aired this spring that I watched and really enjoyed it. So I'm a pretty big Noel Fielding fan and I have to say it took me time to get into this show. The first episode I loved! It is bizarre and completely kooky in every way. Maybe it's the American in me but it just took me time to adjust to the entire idea that this was a real show that actually aired on a TV channel! I love the fact that I feel I could watch this show on mute and still enjoy it because of the costumes, art, makeup, and sets. I'm a fan and if there is a series two I will definitely be watching!

Movies

I'm not really fan of Danielle Radcliff(and I remain that way)but I went anyway to see this apparent "horror" movie. I have say I was unexpectedly pleased I wouldn't call it so much a horror film but rather a thriller. The story was simple and easy to figure out but the acting was well done and the scenery was wonderful!

Yes I am on the Avengers bandwagon! I love this movie and the super hero movies that led up to this!
