Voting 2012

Voting day, the day with you're facebook is bombarded with people telling you if you  dont go vote your not "American". Well let me just define the word "Voting" for you real quick "a formal expression of opinion or choice, either positive or negative, made by an individual or body of individuals." No where in this definition does it say mandatory. If you dont want to vote dont vote, we live in America and we have the freedom to choose our leaders by voting or we can simply not vote. That said I voted. This was the year in which I was eligible and I decided even though a dont like anyone running I would vote anyway for the experience. I went in and was greeted quite nicely and I preceded to fill out my ballot. The propositions were a breeze I knew exactly what I was for and against. Then I began voting for the people and that was sheer torture. I finally came to the question I had saved for last, the biggy, yes the president. I began thinking as I was reading the candidates about who I thought would truly do a good job and came to my finale conclusion that none of them were what I wanted to vote for. After accepting this fact I made my way to the other column and decided that my vote was going to someone who of course wasn't going to win but I would rather vote for someone who I knew wasn't going to win than vote for a winning candidate I didn't agree with so here is my vote.

So there you go, he wont be President but at least I know I didn't vote for someone who was going to win that I simply couldn't stand to watching office.

Simple & Casual Fall Outfit

Fall is upon us and here in California it is hot! I am waiting for the windy and rainy weather to begin but for now I will just pretend that we are having normal seasons. For the simple, casual fall outfit I got a cute plaid shirt, some nice grey jeans, and my super awesome red hair!

I love dressing in flamboyant things but I also enjoy simple cute clothes that show my style but are again very simple. I dont get to wear brand new clothes everyday, so I have had learn how to wear things multiple times and still make it work and each piece of this outfit is great for that!

So that's about it for this post and before a bid you good bye I must show off my prized possession...(drum roll) yes, its my hair!

A Tasty Morsel Of Music: Lindi Ortega

I had the wonderful chance to go see Social Distortion in May, you can check out my post about their show here! But what I want to talk about was the amazing opening act at the show. Lindi Ortega opened, I had no idea who she was when I saw her on the bill but I was so impressed by her performance I went home and bought her album "Little Red Boots" on iTunes. Miss Ortega has just graced with another wonderful album "Cigarettes and Truckstops". You can check her music and tour dates here on her facebook page and watch her videos here on her youtube channel!

This song is Little Lie from her album

Rosie The Riveter Costume

I have taken it upon myself to list two really awesome and fun Halloween costumes and how to go about making them become a reality for your Halloween celebrations! The first is of course a very classic and easy costume that is extremely iconic. As a rockabilly chick I always use this as a back up costume simply because I know I already have everything I need and its really pretty much my everyday style. That said it is a super fun, cute and easy costume to pull together and pull off!

Here is Rosie herself!

Here are some Rosie the Riveter costumes

These women are rockin the Rosie style, now here is what you need to pull this costume off!

First thing you need is a red and white polka dotted bandana or scarf, as you can see a few of our aspiring Rosie's used different patterns but I am going to be working of the poster.

Vintage Style Head Scarf on Etsy I am in love with this head scarf it is perfect for a Rosie costume!

Scarf from Ebay this scarf has a lot of length but it would work great, I like having a lot of fabric to tie in my hair!

For tips on getting the perfect bandana style check out my blog post here on bandana styling!

The next thing on the list is a navy blue/denim shirt

Gap Womens Denim Shirt  I love this dark denim shirt!

For the pants I suggest I high wasted pant

"Tall Molly Skinny Jeans" Classic fun jeans!

High Wasted Denim Shorts if your feeling a little outside the box you  may want top try these awesome high wasted shorts!

The badge is a must have!

Etsy, authentic Rosie badge love this badge!

I hope this helps and inspires you to go out and be the best riveters possible!
