Helmets of the 1960s

I have been obsessing over 1960s mod helmets ever since a saw Jean Shrimpton in this photo

And I have done a bit of scouring the internet and found some more absolutely awe-inspiring headgear.

If anyone reads this and knows of a place where someone could acquire a vintage head piece of this style please let me know! I have done my share of research and simply can not find anything...

Rosie The Riveter Costume

I have taken it upon myself to list two really awesome and fun Halloween costumes and how to go about making them become a reality for your Halloween celebrations! The first is of course a very classic and easy costume that is extremely iconic. As a rockabilly chick I always use this as a back up costume simply because I know I already have everything I need and its really pretty much my everyday style. That said it is a super fun, cute and easy costume to pull together and pull off!

Here is Rosie herself!

Here are some Rosie the Riveter costumes

These women are rockin the Rosie style, now here is what you need to pull this costume off!

First thing you need is a red and white polka dotted bandana or scarf, as you can see a few of our aspiring Rosie's used different patterns but I am going to be working of the poster.

Vintage Style Head Scarf on Etsy I am in love with this head scarf it is perfect for a Rosie costume!

Scarf from Ebay this scarf has a lot of length but it would work great, I like having a lot of fabric to tie in my hair!

For tips on getting the perfect bandana style check out my blog post here on bandana styling!

The next thing on the list is a navy blue/denim shirt

Gap Womens Denim Shirt  I love this dark denim shirt!

For the pants I suggest I high wasted pant

"Tall Molly Skinny Jeans" Classic fun jeans!

High Wasted Denim Shorts if your feeling a little outside the box you  may want top try these awesome high wasted shorts!

The badge is a must have!

Etsy, authentic Rosie badge love this badge!

I hope this helps and inspires you to go out and be the best riveters possible!

French Beret

I traveled through Europe in the summer of 2010 and when I was in France I of course bought berets! So the other day I found one that I safely stored away and decided that the time had come to wear it!

Not sure what I was going for in this picture I think I watched to much America's Next Top Model!

The moral of this story is that everyone should have a beret!

Octopus's Garden

Octopus's have long been fashion inspiration to rockabilly, steampunk, and various other styles and I think we all know why. Octopus's are beautiful and simply eerie creatures. I happen to have some octopus items which I have been lusting for, from Plasticland, and I wanted to share them with you.

Octopus rings are a must have!

Yes, I do desperately want this

Octopus shirt that can be bought at
