Earle’s latest album is entitled Nothing’s
Gonna Change the Way You Feel About Me Now, this record is bursting
with astounding emotion that combines an old school style of blues and country.
Justin Townes Earle has recaptured a time and place that the modern world seems
to have left behind. In an interview with Weld for Birmingham he was asked
“What is there about Southern music that needs to be preserved?” to which he
gave the most suitable answer, he said “Well, I think, if you really want to
get down to it, it’s all Southern music.”. Justin Townes Earle is a true artist
and his, already extensive, body of work proves this. Even if your taste in
music is narrow I urge you to listen to gifted musician and the beautifully
fluent sounds that he creates.
Dominique Pruitt has once again wowed me with her music! Her new song "He's Got It Bad" is simply marvelous, with her lovely soulful voice and lyrics this song will definitely be an obsession of mine for some time.

Fall is finally beginning to set in and I for one am thrilled! So just to prepare your minds you better be getting yourselves ready to see my fall fashion!
This week I was invited to a baby shower(yay!) and the theme for the baby shower was Moroccan/Japanese/Chinese/Thia. I immediately started racking my brain on what to wear and it wasn't long before I the perfect thing came to mind.
I got this AMAZING jacket/dress thing thats very Sgt. Peppers album/1960s inspired, if you dont know that album well shame on you and I wont tell you, google it!
So I pieced it together with a pair of pretty rocking tights and my scarf with the great wave painted on it. I also wore it with nude heels, I'm not so much into trendy fashion but nude heels really are a must have for me now.

All in all it worked out perfectly! I was so pleased and the baby shower was delightful.
Lastly I want to share my latest song obsession! Here it is
I was blessed with the amazing opportunity to see Paloma Faith play in San Francisco on her first American tour. I adore Paloma Faith and her amazing style and I have blogged about her before here!
I immediately got myself and my brother(a fellow Paloma lover) tickets to go see her at The Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco. On the 18th of September 2012 we made our way up to San Fran. We arrived and waited for what felt like eternity for Miss Paloma. She emerged on to the stage wearing a beautiful dress and her hair up in classic Paloma fashion. She opened with the song Let You're Love Walk In, I was brought to tears within seconds. Her voice is beautiful and strong and her stage presences is so powerful! I was thrilled and moved when she went into her second song 30 Minute Love Affair, a fantastic song, she danced and the audience was obviously loving it! After that she chatted with the audience for minute and had no trouble being her charming self. BEST MOMENT EVER!
The next song preformed was Agony, this song is powerful and seeing it live was like no other experience I've had. It was truly one of those moments where I simply stood in aw and absorbed the moment. Next she played Let Me Down Easy and of course it was beautiful!
She than proceeded to play a song from her first album. the song was New York. The audience was in love, the room was bursting with voices that echoed the words "Her name was New York, New York". At one point she removed her ear piece and "free styled" it with the audience. It was so amazing hearing so much love and enthusiasm in that moment.
Black and Blue was the next and this is a song that is so beautifully true that you cant help but but adore it. Paloma introduced the song by talking about how she wanted to create a song about life and not so much about love but a strong song about life.
She introduced the next song by saying that she wanted to write about a modern love rather than the songs that are put out about how love supposedly is. She said it was how modern love really is.

As her next song begin she kicked off her shoes and stood up on the grand piano. She went on and said that she doesn't like people who tell her what to do and that for the next three and half minutes we were to be completely free and we were. Everyone danced and clapped and sang to the beautiful up beat anthem of love and freedom!
She closed the show with the songs Blood, Sweat and Tears and Picking Up The Pieces. She of course received a HUGE encore from all of us in the audience. For her encore she did a breathtaking version of Etta James's song I'd Rather Go Blind and she closed with Streets of Glory.
It was one of the best nights of my life, Paloma came out after and signed autographs and took pictures with all of us. She was sweet, kind and beautiful.

My album she signed I got to meet her quickly and get a picture, you know in the films when the main character goes to say I love you and its the perfect moment and they choke and everyone watching just goes "how could they be so stupid! It was perfect!". Well I now understand, I got to say one thing and just as I was about to say "I love you so much!" I instead choked and simply said "Thank you for coming to America". In all the night was amazing and Paloma is and will forever be my role model. She is strong, charming and a truly genuine person. I love Paloma Faith.
I went to visit my grandfather, grandmother, and some cousin last night at Avila beach in California. When we got there it was packed and we were informed there was a Sublime concert about to take place on the golf course. When we arrived at there hotel room we realized not only did their balcony overlook the concert but if you hopped over the rail you would be on the roof and get even closer. So I spent a good chunk of the evening sitting on the rooftop listening to Sublime.
Okay yes I did my hair the same as my I Love Lucy Style post. The rest is just a little skirt I found at the thrift store and a black sweater.
So this is a new thing I am beginning on this blog, a blog posted named "A Tasty Morsel Of Music" will be a simple short but sweet post about an artist or two that have become aware of that I feel needs to be spoken about. With this is mind I now commence the first ever Tasty Morsel of Music post!

My, my, my... well this week has been a so jam packed full of work, school, and the Vans Warp Tour! My parents surprised me and two of my siblings with tickets, after we waited a wedding. I was so excited this was to be my first warp tour and from the stories I had heard my hopes were high! We arrived at 10am at the Ventura Fairgrounds on Sunday with our skip the line passes. We slowly progressed until finally we made our way in, we quickly rushed to get the times of the bands we wanted to see and then we begin to soak in the atmosphere. After about thirty minutes of traveling together we decided to go our separate ways because we all had different agenda's. So being the observer I am I slowly begin advancing my way around stopping at booths, talking to interesting looking people and simply enjoying the fact that wherever I went music was being blasted into my ears. The first band I went to see was The Jukebox Romantics, they had a good sound, and were very friendly and energetic. The second band that I really wanted to see was We Are The Ocean. I had heard of them before and listened to a few of there songs, so when I heard that they were scheduled to preform I decided that I must see them.
This is a side note, but before going I came to the realization that a lot of the bands performing were indeed heavy metal or also known as "screamo" of which I am not a fan that specific genre. I decided to seek out bands, and I do not mean this as on offensive to anyone who may indeed enjoy the "screamo" genre, but rather bands that are playing real music. I do enjoy a good scream once in a blue moon but if this scream is going to be imposed on me I would prefer it to come from my mouth not from a man who looks as though he wants to murder me as soon as the song comes to an end.
We Are The Ocean played a wonderful a show, it was lively, fun, and I would definitely love to see them again. After the show they did a signing and I was very happy to have my copy of their album Go Now and Live signed by all of them and to get a photos with them. They were extremely nice and very pleasant to talk too.

Next on my list of bands to see was Skinny Lister, I had heard of them and all I had heard was good. I do enjoy folk music quit a bit so I was very excited to hear that amongst the screaming and hardcore type music there would be something more alternative. I spent awhile mucking around watching various bands and proceeding to make my way to the stage Skinny Lister would be playing on. Despite my mucking around I still found myself at their stage 30 minutes prior to when they were scheduled to play. I got my spot, right in the front, and then waited and watched as they begin to set up. Finally they begin to play, they were only barley into the show when one of the band members, Lorna, came into the audience and begin to dance. From this point on the audience seemed enthralled with this British folk band. Skinny Lister was my favorite band of the day and I will be going to see them again, I will find a way, of this a have no doubt.
After their show I made my way to their booth, I will admit that I was temporarily distracted by a man with wonderfully pink hair. When I arrived I met Lorna and quickly bought their EP. I begin to make my way to the next band on my list but soon realized I had forgotten to get a picture. I made my back to their booth to find that they were all there, except their bassist Dan Gray. They kindly agreed to sign my EP and took a photo with me.
The day was going wonderfully, I had heard some amazing music, met many new people, and attempted to try to listen to bands who's music was not usually my preference. I also made my fair share of stops by the peace tea tent where they were serving free tea and it just so happens I am a big fan of both free things and tea.
The day begin to slowly wind down and I as evening dawned the majority of the people were headed to see All Time Low as I was making my way to the Tilly stage near the exit. I Fight Dragons was band that I just so happen to be a fan of, and yes I do relate to their song The Geeks Will Inherit The Earth.
They came out and begin their show and I must say that their audience was the easiest and happiest crowd I had been around that day. The only time I have ever seen a mosh pit and felt that I could survive it was at their show. They were fun, energetic and genuine. After their show wrapped up I went to see Dead Sara, the last band on my list. I have been a fan of their song Weatherman for quit a while so I was very excited to see them live. They begin to play but I left after about the third song, it was fun to see them but I much preferred their album sound then their live sound. I decided to go to the I Fight Dragons signing.

The day had come to an end, it was a day filled with joyous people and joyous music. The thing I believe I loved most about the warp tour is how everyone is immediately friendly. You dont know each other, you've never met and yet your all friends. I was pleasantly surprised by this warmness and I look forward to going next year.
