A Vision In Velvet

Velvet, need I say more? Probably not but I will anyway. I have been so in love with all things velvet, most of my life I have associated velvet with tacky 80's prom stuff. Oh but how wrong I was, velvet has the capability to be, in my opinion, one of the most elegant fabrics to wear. Now here are some velvet item that I am widely attracted too

These are Alexander McQueen bee embroidered velvet shoes that I love! I always feel like a poor child from the 1920s looking through a candy shop window when I go on Alexander McQueen's website... Let us just look once more at these heavenly slippers

 

Moving on, I have obtained a few velvety items myself but have yet be inspired to make them into anything truly wonderful. Now we have come to my favorite part! We shall break out our Scale of Class and rank velvet!

 

Ahhh yes... The all so lovely Kate Middleton provides us with the rank of velvet. Kate herself has been seen in velvet looking lovely.

So when you find yourself wondering what fabric is truly fantastic, you now know that it is velvet.

Chevron Print & A Bunny

Guess who's back?! Me! Its been ages so please excuse me but I am back and ready to rock and roll, so here it goes!

I went to Fresno, CA. a few weeks ago and while I was there I vised a thrift store called Yoshi NOW! and it was fantastic! I purchased a white/navy chevron print dress and a military jacket(I will post about that later). I was so impressed by the sheer amount of beautiful vintage items they carried. If you ever find yourself in Fresno stop by, you will not regret it! 

I also have some exciting news to share! A bunny has been added to our family over the past two weeks. Her name is Harvey(After the bunny in the movie Harvey) and she is adorable!

My outfit today is my white/navy chevron dress, white tights, red shoes. For my hair I just simply twisted back the two front sides of my hair and my bangs are growing out so I just twisted those on top!

The chickens were out playing when I took these photo's, their names are Cora, Civil, Mary and Edith

(Yes, all after Downton Abbey characters).

When evening came I threw on a plain black pea coat.

My Trip To Macy's

A few weeks ago my grandmother came into town and took me shopping at Macy's. I am normally not a fan of shopping at big retail stores I usually prefer a thrift stores but on this occasion I gave in. She did buy me a very fun little black and white polka dot dress and a very cute sweater. I put these items in my closet and finally I decided to make it an outfit!

I put on my dress and sweater than I paired it with my kitty cat T.U.K's and a red beret. For my hair I put it up in one simple victory roll.

I got many complements on my shoes, people always tend to love T.U.K.'s.

At the end of the day I was very happy with the result and my trip to Macy's did in fact turn out to be a fruitful one, although I doubt that I will be going there anytime soon again, I think I will stick to thrifting.

Peaches & Polka Dots

Summer has finally arrived! To celebrate this glorious and over due event I went to the beach with my family!

It was beautiful day and the beach was fantastic! On the way up we stopped to pick some peaches. I decided since it was a beautiful day I would wear a lovely knee length navy blue and white polka dotted dress, with an old school studded jean vest. I put my hair up in a simple bandana and I wore my favorite red heels

(because in my heart I'm a girly girl!)

All in all this summer has started off wonderfully and I cant wait for the many adventures that await me this summer!

Shoe Obsession!

So I have this thing and its called a SHOE OBSESSION! Now I know for a fact I'm not the only girl in the world with this "problem", so this post is completely dedicated to the love of my life SHOES! 


I love all shoes that have a pattern or sparkle but my personal favorites are heels!

 

Now the thing I hear women say most about heels is "I'm to tall, if I wear heels I will look like a giant.", here is what I say! You are never to tall for heels! It doesn't matter if you 4'9 are 6'5, you can rock a pair of heels! Heels are the very definition of perfection(in my dictionary). Rockabilly heels are the best of the best, dont believe me? Let me show you!

 I really love this shoe, and I'll tell you why! The buckle on this shoe is beautiful and I love the fact that its a simple black heel. You could put this shoe with something causal or formal and it would totally work!

Now you can see my point, right?! Rockabilly heels are the best, but while we are talking about shoes I feel the need to put in these other fabulous rockabilly shoes that should never be left out of a shoe conversation!

I know what your thinking "Abigail, why aren't these dramatic?!" and my answer is "Because they are stinkin' gorgeous!". I love these ones because of the simplicity and versatility, you could wear these with a pair of jeans and tee shirt and look amazing!

Those are some of my favorite shoes that I've been wanting for a long time, and I have to say writing this post has got me more excited about getting shoes!! Like I said at the beginning rockabilly shoes are my favorites because of the vibrant colors and bold patterns. Shoes are vital for any closet(not just rockabilly)! So I thought it fitting to end this post with a poem about........ you guessed it! Shoes!
